After having swallowed thousands of kilometers of road for different types of tests, the Skoda RE-X1 is ready to launch into the deep end.

Developed in association with Kreisel, which takes care of the electrical part, and Baumschlager Rally & Racing, in charge of operations, the RE-X1, based on a Fabia Rally2 evo base, has been approved by the Austrian Federation (ÖAMTC) and its competition debut is planned for July.

« The RE-X1 concept is an exciting blend of classic technology and the future, explains Michal Hrabánek, boss of Skoda Motorsport. We have provided our best experience, based on the development of three generations of the Fabia in rallying. This concept car offers all the configuration possibilities of the latest generation of the Fabia Rally2 evo but with an electric motor. I am convinced that rally fans will find this association very interesting ».

This RE-X1 delivers a maximum power of 260 kW and up to 600 Nm of torque while the Fabia Rally2 evo displays 214 kW and 425 Nm with its 1.6 liter thermal engine.

In July, the RE-X1 will make its competitive debut in the Austrian Rally Championship.
