Hyundai sharpened its weapons for Mexico

In 2014, the Belgian Thierry Neuville, 3rd in Mexico, offered his first podium to Hyundai. A year later, the 2013 world vice-champion will appear in Central America crowned with his first podium of the season in Sweden, and will drive an i20 WRC which will launch an engine evolution “to counter the effects of power losses caused by altitude. »

“It is a demanding event with the combination of altitudes and high temperatures making it a rally physically difficult for us drivers, and very hard on the car. We had a day of testing in Spain to prepare for Mexico. The team is working hard to develop the Hyundai i20 WRC and there are more improvements to come. » explains Neuville.

The third round of the World Championship will also be an opportunity to see in action again the Spaniard Dani Sordo, injured ribs at the beginning of the month, and who had missed the Swedish Rally. “I’m really happy to be back for Mexico,” says the former Citroën driver. It was the right decision to miss Sweden and completely rest. The team had a great result last rally and it is encouraging to see two cars in the top five, but obviously I prefer to be in action. »

The Rally Mexico will take place from March 5 to 8
and will be followed on our website.
