Hyundai complete for Wales Rally GB

Hyundai Motorsport a confirmé qu’elle alignera ses quatre i20 WRC for Wales Rally GB held from October 26 to 29. The Korean manufacturer will therefore be defended by Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo, Hayden Paddon and new recruit Andreas Mikkelsen. The New Zealander will be back after his absence at Rally of Catalonia contested this week.

“We have always remained committed to fielding four cars for Wales Rally GB., comments Hyundai Motorsport Team Principal Michel Nandan. We believe that this competitive line-up will allow us to maintain our chances in the Drivers' and Manufacturers' Championships. »

“Thierrry finished on the podium last year, like Andreas in 2015, and we know we have the potential. Hayden finished strong last year in this event (4th) and this will be the perfect opportunity for him to come back. Dani, who has also finished on the podium at Wales Rally GB in the past, will give us a reference on the fourth car”, adds Michel Nandan.

Thierry Neuville remains the best-placed Hyundai driver in the Championship, 17 points behind Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) avant le Rallye de Catalogne disputé cette semaine. Hyundai accuse 64 unités de retard sur M-Sport.
