Hyundai with the titles in the lead in Poland

Si Hyundai Motorsport a déjà conquis deux victoires cette saison avec les succès de Thierry Neuville at the Tour de Corse and at the Rally of Argentina, his priority will be to secure points in the fight for the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles at this week's Rally Poland. The Korean manufacturer prepared for the event by carrying out a test session in Lithuania.

“After leaving the Sardinian side, we return to the fastest rounds of the year in Poland and Finland. These routes impose new challenges on our Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC », comments Michel Nandan, Team Principal of Hyundai Motorsport.

“We have always been quite successful on this terrain with a podium in 2014 (with Thierry Neuville) and another last season (with Hayden Paddon). We know our car is competitive on gravel, but this will be our first high-speed test. Our focus is on the Championship”, adds Michel Nandan.

Thierry Neuville is the spearhead of Hyundai Motorsport, the Belgian occupying 2nd place in the Championship, 18 points behind the leader Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport). Le pilote Hyundai cherchera à battre son record en décrochant un 6e podium d’affilée.

“I really like Rally Poland and the pace of the roads, explains Thierry Neuville. There aren't many dangerous turns. We can commit more and take some risks. It’s a pretty fun rally and the speeds are incredible. At the same time, we have a job to do and we must continue to attack as much as possible to stay in the title race. We are entering the home stretch of the Championship. Now all decisions matter. »

Hyundai Motorsport will once again enter three i20 Coupe WRCs with Dani Sordo and Hayden Paddon as reinforcements.
