Hyundai intends to play placed in Corsica

Hyundai engagera trois i20 WRC at the Tour de Corse entrusted to Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo and Hayden Paddon. The Korean manufacturer hopes to experience the same success as in Rally of Germany where he placed two cars on the podium, the Belgian having beaten the Spaniard by only a tenth at the end of a superb duel which livened up the end of the event.

“I love Corsica. This rally brings back excellent memories because I won it a few years ago in IRC (in 2011 on a Peugeot 207 S2000), remembered Thierry Neuville. Last season it was a little different. The very special conditions made the race difficult. »

“Our intention is to get a good result. I feel very good in the Hyundai i20 WRC and I think we can fight at the front. Some times are new compared to last year. We need to work on our grades. The scenery is fabulous and it's a great event when it all comes together. I can’t wait to be at the start”, added Thierry Neuville.

His teammate Dani Sordo also won the Rallye des 10 Virages by winning in 000 in a Mini Countryman S2012, a year after Thierry Neuville.

“I really like this round. There are some beautiful stages in the mountains and lots of magnificent corners, confided the Spaniard. It's a very different asphalt from Germany and we'll see what the weather does. I am very motivated and I am only aiming for the podium. »

“We showed that our Hyundai i20 WRC has the potential to reach the podium on a wide variety of surfaces, underlined Michel Nandan, Team Principal of Hyundai Motorsport. An additional podium remains our goal. We had our three cars in the top five in Germany, including two on the podium. A result like this is within our capabilities. »
