Hyundai evolves by arriving in Finland

With Thierry Neuville and Juho Hänninen, the team Hyundai will possess the experience of the Finnish driver and the enthusiasm of the Belgian, second last year on the roads of the 1000 Lakes behind the World Champion Sébastien Ogier and his Volkswagen Polo R. Neuville is very impatient to find the famous rally Scandinavian. “It’s a very special event with so many spectators and probably the best jumps of the season. After the good result in Poland last month, we really hope to continue the good work in Finland as well. The goal for us always remains the same: to do our best to lead our i20 WRC Hyundai on arrival and help the team continue the development of the car. »

Because this is indeed the priority objective of the Korean team in this 2014 season. Hyundai is also making changes to its vehicle for the Rally of Finland (July 31? August 3). “Our goal for Rally Finland, as always, will be to get as much data and information as possible. We therefore need all three cars on arrival, explains Michel Nandan, the team’s Team Principal. We have an excellent line-up with Thierry, Juho and Hayden (Paddon, who plays in Team 2 of Hyundai, Editor’s note). They all have good experience of the event and the skills necessary to tackle the stages with high top speeds. Juho is a local rider who knows exactly what it takes to succeed in Finland, Thierry finished second last year and Hayden won the Group N category in 2010. We tested in Finland earlier this month- So we have a good idea of the direction we need to take with the set-up. We arrive with a few updates, including a revised wet-liner cylinder block, using one of the 'wildcards' that we are allowed to use during the year by the FIA. »

The Rally Finland will begin on August 1 and can be followed live in full on AUTOhebdo.fr.
