Après quatre années de bons et loyaux services, Scott Noh s’apprête à quitter Hyundai Motorsport avec effet immédiat. De retour en Corée du Sud « to take up a new position at Hyundai Motor Company as part of a routine senior management rotation », the head of the South Korean manufacturer is replaced by Sean Kim who is celebrating 10 years with the company.

« It was a great opportunity and experience to be able to work with Hyundai Motorsport, a strong team of people with whom I shared many memorable moments, rejoices Scott Noh. It was an honor to lead this team to two constructors' titles in WRC (2019 and 2020), and I am returning to Korea, as part of a planned move, for a new challenge with very beautiful memories of my time in Alzenau (city in Germany where the headquarters of Hyundai Motorsport is located. »

Like his predecessor, Sean Kim will take care of the entire motorsport universe of Hyundai, ranging from the WRC to customer competition, including the eTouring Car World Cup (Electric Touring Car World Cup) and the WTCR.

« I am delighted to take over from Scott as President of Hyundai Motorsport and continue the work he has so successfully overseen over the past four years, confided Sean Kim. I had the chance to work on the development of the cars in preparation for our return to the WRC in 2014, so I saw the company go from strength to strength over the years. These are exciting times for the Hyundai brand, with hybrid technology in WRC and electric racing in ETCR creating relevant technology transfer between our motorsport and high-performance passenger cars."

However, the appointment of Sean Kim does not solve the problems of Hyundai Motorsport and particularly in the WRC. Four months after the departure of Andrea Adamo, the Korean team still does not have an official main team since Julien Moncet is only acting on an interim basis in the World Rally Championship at the moment.
