Hyundai prepares for gravel events at Rally Serras de Fafe

Dani Sordo and Ott Tänak introduced aerodynamic developments during the Rally Serras de Fafe (Portugal) in order to gain competitiveness during the WRC gravel events, starting with the Rally Mexico.

Hyundai prepares for gravel events at Rally Serras de Fafe

No rest for Hyundai Motorsport. L’équipe présente en Championnat du monde des rallyes (WRC), rather than twiddling your thumbs while waiting for the Rally from Mexico (March 12-15), traveled to Portugal to compete in the Rally Serras de Fafe e Felgueiras as preparation.

On a route very similar to the Rally Portugal (May 21-24), Ott Tänak-Martin Järveoja and Dani Sordo-Carlos Del Barrio were able to try new aerodynamic solutions. Accepted in this first round of the National Rally Championship, the two Hyundai i20 Coupes however drove out of classification.

 

 

Un new rear spoiler and fins on the wheel arches before have been seen. “We worked together with Ott and the team to find different solutions to adjust the gravel set-up, indicated Dani Sordo. 

It was really important for us to get back into rhythm on this surface before Mexico. The Rally Serras de Face was the ideal opportunity. » His new teammate Ott Tänak confirms.

Après deux épreuves, Hyundai est deuxième du championnat Constructeurs, 10 points derrière Toyota, While Thierry Neuville is the best representative of the South Korean brand in the Drivers' ranking (tied for 1st with Elfyn Evans).
