Given the trend, there was some impatience to see what the Hyundai i20 Rally1 for the 3rd exercise in hybrid mode. Since the official arrival of the Asian manufacturer in WRC, in 2014, the liveries of the successive vintages of the car entered in competition proceeded through small changes.
The base is inevitably sky blue, but the rest varies depending on the advertisers and inspirations. Since 2017, dark parts have taken up more and more space, but 2024 marks their decline. The blue also seems even lighter than previous seasons.
However, there is no way to go astray when seeing this Rally1. Signs are unmistakable, like these orange rims that Koreans like so much. Will this new decoration be a success for one of the team's drivers? This is what I want Cyril Abiteboul the director of Hyundai Motorsport. “ With our refreshed driver line-up and our improved Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid, we hope to be able to aim for victory more frequently, He explains. Additionally, given the nature of the 2024 season, we believe we can challenge for the drivers' title. Ott had unfinished business with the team, and once we started talking, we realized there was mutual interest in finishing it. With Thierry we have two drivers capable of winning the crown. In our third car, we wanted to reward the crews who we felt deserved this opportunity. The addition of talent in a number of areas, such as new engineers, mechanics, weather and sports staff, also strengthens the entire team as we look to move forward this year. Success in 2024 will be our priority and we are confident that we have the right elements in place to make this a reality. In addition, we also have a plan for 2025 and 2026 that we intend to implement. »

The large rear windows of the i20 are very useful for successfully registering all the crew names. As a reminder, Thierry Neuville et Ott Tänak will compete in the entire championship while Esapekka Lappi, Dani Sordo and Andreas Mikkelsen will share the 13 rounds. The season launch is scheduled for January 25 for the first Monte-Carlo special stages.
