Hyundai will upgrade its i20 R5

The in-house 1,6 liter unit will receive reworked pistons and cylinder liners to achieve a power of 290 hp, with the car initially developing 285 in its debut. This limited gain in power is also accompanied by improved torque, distributed over a better engine range.

The chassis part will see the arrival of new shock absorbers, both in dirt and asphalt versions, to achieve better overall balance, and therefore more efficient behavior. The direction will also be reviewed and corrected.

Externally, the new features are limited to redesigned mirrors, just like the roof of the i20 R5. Hyundai also announces that it has updated the cooling system of the gearbox and brakes.

New deliveries from 2020 will obviously include all of these developments, with a kit also being available for older specification cars. Note that tests are still underway to make all the new features more reliable and approved.
