Jari-Matti Latvala on his way to Toyota

A first piece on the transfer market chessboard seems to have moved in recent hours. Jari-Matti Latvala, as indicated on the WRC website citing the Finnish media, would have initialed his contract with the Toyota Gazoo Racing ahead of the next season WRC.

The Finn, passed through M-Sport and Volkswagen in recent years, would thus become, after Juho Hänninen confirmed several weeks ago, the second recruit of Tommi Mäkinen, whose structure is in charge of the return of the Japanese brand to the World Rally Championship with the Yaris.

Jari-Matti Latvala would thus change his horizon for 2017 after the announcement of the end of the official Volkswagen Motorsport program after the last Rally from Australia. Confirmation of the 31-year-old driver's signing is expected to come next week during the team's presentation in Finland on Tuesday December 13.
