Day 2: Loeb / Ogier, the Seb raid

Sébastien Loeb was not mistaken, Sébastien Ogier is once again his main opponent on the rally. However, the first special turned to the advantage of the seven-time world champion, even if his position at the start proved to be handicapping. The Citroën DS3 WRC also won on the first three special stages: SS7 for Loeb, SS8 for Solberg and SS9 for Ogier. The Gapençais took advantage of the longest special stage of the rally (41,45 km) to put 7?5 on his Alsatian teammate and rival.

In the afternoon, Jari-Matti Latvala led the Ford Fiesta RS WRC offensive. The Finn won the first two scratches, which allowed him to move back ahead of Sébastien Loeb in the general classification. Unfortunately, the last special, Jordan River, was not favorable to him, he gave Loeb 8??6, while Ogier increased his lead in the general classification.

At the end of this first day, Sébastien Ogier is 31??6 ahead of Sébastien Loeb. The Alsatian remains under threat from Jari-Matti Latvala at 1??5. At 2??2, Petter Solberg can still dream of the final podium. This is not the case for Mikko Hirvonen, handicapped by his opening position and faulty power steering, he is already more than two minutes behind. Kimi Räikkönen completes this top 6.
