Juho Hanninen enters S-WRC

The 2010 IRC Champion will not defend his title in 2011. The Finn has signed up with the Red Bull Skoda team to experience a season in the Super 2000 World Rally Championship.

Juho Hanninen will play the 2011 season of S-WRC with the Fabia S2000 of Red Bull Skoda. The Finn will have German Hermann Gassner Junior as his teammate, while Patrick Sandell, 2010 vice-champion of the discipline, should not be retained by the team for next year.

The 2010 IRC Champion should still compete in a few rounds of the 2011 IRC Championship. The Skoda driver is already signed up for the Rally Monte Carlo and could also be present at the Barum Rally Zin. However, he will mainly focus on his season in Super 2000 in which he intends to win.

“It's a natural step for me,” commented Juho Hanninen. “I'm really excited to come back to the WRC, it's where I wanted to be. I really enjoyed the IRC which is a good competition and which is made up of good people. But it's a new challenge that awaits me and my priority is to win the title.
