Ken Block discovers asphalt

This weekend, on the occasion of Rally from Germany, Ken Block will take part in his first round of the asphalt world rally championship. Last Monday, the American carried out tests across the Rhine, in order to familiarize himself with driving his Focus RS WRC on this surface.

« With zero rounds on asphalt in the American championship, Alex and I are leaving with a definite handicap here in Germany, admits the Monster World Rally Team driver. We only took part in two asphalt events, and although I won each time, I don't claim to be able to fight here with the more experienced drivers. »

In order to learn more about the behavior of a WRC on the tarmac, Ken Block was able to sit alongside Jari-Matti Latvala.

“Sitting in the car with Jari-Matti made me realize how much I still have to learn about driving on asphalt, He continues. It's going to be a real challenge, but this test was one of my best days in a rally car.

Although he certainly still needs to gain a lot of experience, Ken Block seems in any case very motivated to progress.
