Kimi Räikkönen is making giant strides

Kimi Räikkönen, after a difficult start to the World Rally Championship, is getting the hang of the discipline and his car. This weekend, in Turkey, the Finn made no mistakes and took advantage of the errors of Jari-Matti Latvala and Dani Sordo to climb the rankings. In addition, Iceman is showing himself to be more and more consistent and knows how to compete with the top drivers in certain sectors. In the end, his fifth place rewards an astonishing ability to adapt.

« I feel more and more confident behind the wheel of the Citroën C4 WRC, says the Finn. I am really satisfied with the pace that we are able to maintain without taking any risks. We are able to get closer to the times of the drivers in front. This was our main objective. The work with the whole team is bearing fruit. I feel more and more confident. We have a few weeks until our next one rally but the goal will not change: we will have to continue to improve. »

Benoit Nogier, team manager of the Citroën Junior Team, recognizes that the Finn is following a linear path leading him to be more and more competitive. “ Kimi had his best rally since the start of the season. It was not just an endurance race, he was ahead of some of his rivals on a regular basis and this is proof that he is progressing. It?s very encouraging for the whole team. »
