Kimi Räikkönen excluded from WRC Championship

Kimi Räikkönen is competing this year in the 2011 season of WRC with his Ice 1 Racing team at the wheel of a private Citroën DS3 WRC. After competing in six rallies and scoring 34 Championship points, Iceman was expelled from the Championship for canceling his entry to the Rally from Australia.

The Finn was due to take part in at least two events outside Europe but he only took part in the Jordan Rally. The organizers of the discipline thus excluded him from the Drivers' and Manufacturers' Championships, giving him the right to compete in the other rallies scheduled on the season's calendar.

This sanction is added to a fine of 16 euros. His entry fees for Rally Australia have also been maintained.
