Kris Meeke has reasonable goals for Corsica

Abu Dhabi WRT is carrying out a test session this Sunday September 25 in preparation for the Tour de Corse contested next week. Kris Meeke and Craig Breen will defend the colors of the team hoping to score good results.

After finishing at the foot of the podium in Rally of 10 turns last year, Kris Meeke will aim for a new performance after winning the Rally Finland last July.

“When I think of the Tour de Corse, it is the terrible conditions of the 2015 edition that come to mind: the violent downpours, the floods, the special stages shortened or canceled… We were looking for points for the Manufacturers' championship and my fourth place allowed us to achieve this objective, recalled the Briton. This year, I hope the conditions will be more lenient. This rally is truly fantastic when it is completely dry! »

“In any case, I'm expecting a complicated weekend to manage, warned Kris Meeke. Friday morning, we will take the start of SS1 for 50 km, without intermediate times... Without doing too much, we will have to find the right pace from the start or risk losing a lot of time. Fortunately, Sunday's test session will allow us to settle down a few days before the rally. »

“As far as my goals go, it’s hard to say. Obviously, I won in Portugal and Finland, but these are grounds where I have always been fast. In Corsica, I think I still have to take another step. The goal remains to do all the kilometers to progress and be ready in 2017. I would be very happy to finish on the podium, but it is not a goal in itself”, Kris Meeke added.
