Kris Meeke best shakedown time in Türkiye

4,70 km were on the menu this Thursday morning in Turkey for the shakedown of the event where the competitors will face one of the roughest terrains of the season.

Chris Meeke took the opportunity to set the best time of the session, taking his Toyota Yaris WRC (which should inaugurate a revised rear wing) on his second and third attempts in 3'25″3. The Briton is ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen by a full second and 1″2 Thierry Neuville (Hyundai).

Winner in Türkiye in 2018, and leader of the general classification before this rally, Ott Tänak signe le 4e chrono à 1″4, Teemu Suninen (M-Sport Ford) prenant la 5e place après avoir dominé le premier passage. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) ranks 6th at 3″.

Note that Dani Sordo (Hyundai), author of the 9th fastest time, hit a large rock on his first pass, slightly damaging the front bumper of his i20 Coupe WRC, but without major consequences for the winner of the Rally Italy in Sardinia.

In WRC 2 Pro, Gus Greensmith (Ford Fiesta R5) provisionally sets the best time. The Rally of Turkey will really begin this Thursday evening with a super-special scheduled for 19 p.m.
