The state of the championships after the Tour de Corse

The 2019 World Rally Championship seems to have started on the same basis as in 2018, that is to say an extremely competitive season. After four rounds, the top 3 is held in five points!

Thanks to his last-minute victory at the Tour de Corse, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) takes the lead in the ranking reserved for Drivers. Previous leader, Ott Tänak (Toyota) suddenly falls to third place, while Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) moves back to second place.

Behind, the gap is significant. The great animator of “ Rally of 10 Bends", Elfyn Evans (M-Sport Ford), overtakes Kris Meeke (Toyota) to gain fourth position, still 39 points behind Thierry Neuville. New Chevrons recruit Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) continues to struggle in sixth place with only 22 points.

On the Manufacturers' side, the fight is also exciting. It’s a real crossover that we’re witnessing. Winner for the first time in 2019, Hyundai overtakes Citroën and Toyota to take the lead with 114 units. Citroën follows at 12 points, while Toyota only scores 12 points in Corsica and falls to third place (16 pts behind). M-Sport Ford is in fourth place with 70 points.
