The Citroën C3 Rally2 will bring a number of changes in 2021

In addition to its change of surname to respond to the new pyramid desired in rally by the FIA, the Citroën C3 Rally2 (ex-R5) will also be able to count on several developments to continue an already brilliant career, marked by Mads Ostberg's Drivers' title in WRC2 this season.

Seven developments will arrive for the first quarter of 2021, with the approval of a new engine software, to further refine the engine operating strategies linked to the starting or lifting phases.

A new front skirt with reworked aerodynamics, new front differential ramps to offer a wider range of adjustments, a pedal set with brake distribution that has become adjustable for greater comfort for the driver, as well as new engine mounts, yokes Rear clamp and exhaust manifolds, in order to increase their lifespan, are provided.

“Since its beginnings in 2017, the work has been constant and we have accumulated the kilometers of driving to offer an ever more efficient car, adapted to all driver profiles and with controlled operating costs., specifies Jean-François Grandclaudon, technical manager of the C3 Rally2.

This last season, the work intensified further with our two development drivers, Mads Ostberg for gravel and Yoann Bonato for asphalt.

So much so that over the past two years the car has evolved a lot, notably on several elements not requiring homologation and our work is now bearing fruit with national and world titles won in major championships.

No revolution for the C3 Rally2 in 2021, we will capitalize on the excellent base, both robust and efficient, which we have to try to further improve it, and even if development is an endless path, we are excited to see the performance of our customers equipped with these developments. »

All upgrades will be installed free of charge on any C3 Rally2 ordered since December 1st. Note that Citroën Racing also offers a new basic livery, where white and red are in the spotlight, as is the number 2, the new flagship marker for this category.

More than sixty examples had already been delivered to customer teams, with, in addition to WRC2, leading results in the French Tarmac and Dirt Rally Championship in 2020, with the coronations of Yoann Bonato and Jean-Baptiste Franceschi.
