The Citroën C3 WRC further improved before Finland

Citroën Racing prepares to return to Rally of Finland (July 26-29) where his last victory dates back to 2016 with Kris Meeke. The Northern Irishman having been dismissed during the current season, it is mainly on Craig Breen and Mads Ostberg that will rest the hopes of the Chevron manufacturer who took advantage of the truce to improve his C3 WRC.

The tricolor car received a new front axle geometry which was recently tested by Craig Breen at the Estonian Rally where he took third place despite technical problems.

“The Estonian Rally proved to be excellent preparation for me, it allowed us to review several things and see that with the new front axle, the C3 WRC is even better balanced. I therefore approach this meeting with confidence, especially as it is one of the championship events where I have the most experience. It is essential on this terrain, despite a route which has evolved for this edition., confirmed the Irishman who also reached the last step of the podium at the Rallye des 1000 Lacs in 2016.

His teammate Mads Ostberg also stood out at Rally Finland, taking third place twice, in 2013 and 2015.

“This event is really one of my favorites of the season: if you have to get good scores in recos, then it's pure attack, you don't have to worry about degradation or tires or the ground. I have very good memories there, notably the podium signed with Citroën in 2015, and I hope to make the most of my two days of preparatory driving to approach it well, and try to repeat such a performance.", argued the Norwegian.

Reste que Citroën ne s’est plus imposé depuis le Rallye de Catalogne en octobre dernier et qu’elle occupe la dernière place du Championnat Constructeurs avec 32 points de retard sur Toyota Gazoo Racing.

“You have to be particularly liberated at this big event to shine. In any case, between participation in the Estonian rally and the four days of testing planned there, we will approach it well prepared. It is also one of the rounds that our crews know best, and with the new developments made to our C3 WRC, we can hope to be at the forefront, even if the adversity will once again be formidable., warned Pierre Budar, the director of Citroën Racing.
