The Peugeot Rally Academy turns to the WRC

La Peugeot Rally Academy will focus its 2016 program on WRC. 208 Rally Cup winner José Antonio Suarez will contest five WRC2 events at the wheel of a 208 T16 R5. The Spaniard will be entered in Monte-Carlo (January 22 to 24), Portugal (May 20-22), Sardinia (June 10-12), Germany (August 29-31) and the Tour de Corse (September 30- October 2). The Hispanic driver has already driven the R5 version of the 208 in Spain.

Jordan Berfa will once again drive a 208 R2 over three rounds of the WRC3. The 208-year-old winner of the Junior category of the 20 Rally Cup will be present in Monte-Carlo, in Germany and on the Isle of Beauty.

“In 2016, we wanted to focus even more on the development of young talents from the 208 Rally Cup by allowing them to progress directly into World Championship rallies”, commented Bruno Famin, director of Peugeot Sport. “José Antonio Suarez has already shown a good burst of speed and I have no doubt that his learning will be rapid with the 208 T16 which is a reference both on dirt and on asphalt. As for Jordan Berfa, he will be able to count on the 208 R2 which he masters perfectly to distinguish himself at international level! »
