The Hautes-Alpes prefecture authorizes the Monte-Carlo Rally

This time, nothing seems to be able to stop the march of Rally Monte Carlo. The opening round of WRC should be held from January 18 to 24.

The Hautes-Alpes prefecture has published a decree officially authorizing the rally in the department. He was the last one to have to give the green light. Alpes de Haute-Provence, Drôme, Isère and Alpes-Maritimes had already given their blessing.

“It is excellent work that has been carried out with the Automobile Club of Monaco and the professionalism of this organizer allows the first round of the WRC world championship to take place in health and safety conditions which are essential for our health to everyone,” greets Martine Clavel, the prefect.

This authorization is accompanied by drastic health measures. As we previously announced, the times of the specials have been modified to respect the 18 p.m. curfew. Monte-Carlo will also take place without an audience.

The roads will be closed from the day before the special at 18 p.m., except for local residents. More than 100 commissioners and police officers will be mobilized to enforce this instruction.

The 89th Monte-Carlo Rally is scheduled to start on Thursday.
