Tension rises between Loeb and Ogier

The gaps were close between the two solid leaders of the Rally of Germany until Citroën management chose to freeze the positions mid-stage of the second day by asking Sébastien Ogier to no longer attack Sébastien Loeb, previous leader of the event.

Sébastien Ogier took advantage of a puncture from Sébastien Loeb to take the lead in Rally Germany with more than a minute ahead of his teammate. But the DS3 driver WRC probably did not like the strategic choice made by the leaders of his team. “People who have all the elements can understand but not everyone”, commented the new leader of the Rally Germany on Autosport.

Sébastien Loeb was quick to defend himself following his compatriot's comments. “Maybe he talks too much sometimes”, retorts the eight-time winner of the Rally Germany. ?It?s not his fault if I had a puncture. He can say what he wants. »

Olivier Quesnel for his part indicated that there would be no more team instructions, whatever the evolution of the situation during the last stage. “It will remain as established, Ogier will lead with Seb behind him,” assures the director of Citroën Racing. “But we could very well find ourselves with the reversed situation if Ogier in turn suffers a puncture. »

Sébastien Ogier apologized at the end of the press conference for his previous comments.
