During the Central European Rally, there was no announcement, or even any real progress on the front of the musical seats in the WRC. But watch out for the still water...

Since'Ott Tänak et Hyundai have posted their new nuptials, it is slow to move in the ranks, but that does not prevent rumors from circulating. One of the strangest concerned Kalle Rovanperä, because she implied that the Finn would be tempted by a half-program. The latter was not offended when asked if this was true. Kalle preferred to confirm that he would be there next year full time. What will happen in future seasons? The Nordic has always said that he would not have a long career, so will this half-program take place (if he ever does!) in 2025, 2026 or 2027?

On an identical theme, there was the Esapekka Lappi case. Refusing to talk about his desires for the future, EP maintained the confusion around him. The Finn has once already turned his back on WRC (in 2020, while he was under contract with M-Sport). Could he do the same again? If Hyundai keeps him, will he have a shared program with another driver? And which one? Will he finally make the 13 rounds of 2024?

Cyril Abiteboul, director of Hyundai Motorsport, wants to complete his squad before the rally of Japan (November 16-19), and during the Central Europe Rally, he preferred to remain discreet on the subject. On his desk are the CVs of Teemu Suninen, probably Dani Sordo and who else? In Germany, several sources placed Adrien fourmaux in this list, but others also announced that the Frenchman had already signed with M-Sport with… Oliver Solberg!

Soon the outcome?

A few minutes with Richard Millener, the team manager of the English team, allowed us to understand that the situation is not so simple, particularly for the young Swede supported by the energy drink Monster, the competitor of Red Bull…and promoter of the championship. Identical position for Pierre-Louis Loubet who must have several discussions with Malcolm Wilson and his partner to consider the future. If today everything seems rather nebulous, things should soon become clearer. It will then be time to see which rumors were true and which were far-fetched.
