Lappi: “I am convinced of the potential of the C3 WRC”

Esapekka Lappi spoke to AUTOhebdo following the announcement of his future departure to Citroën where he will work with Sébastien Ogier. The Finn seems convinced that he will have a good ride with the C3 WRC despite the lack of results.

Esapekka Lappi se prépare à vivre son passage chez Citroën après deux saisons passées chez Toyota Gazoo Racing. Le Finlandais est revenu dans AUTOhebdo on the reasons which motivated his choice to leave the Japanese brand in the fight for the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles for the Reds who are still seeking a first victory two rallies from the end of the season.

“I am convinced of the potential of the car and the team, explained Esapekka Lappi to AUTOweekly. The team has had a lot of success in the past and the people in place are often the same and are not stupid. There is potential, but it has not yet been fully exploited. We'll see if we can do it next year..."

Esapekka Lappi also remained evasive when discussing the level of support offered by Toyota.
