Latvala in hospital for tests

Jari-Matti Latvala saw his hopes of victory disappear at Rally of Argentina when the Volkswagen driver rolled over on SS14 at Los Gigantes. The Finn led the race with a handful of seconds ahead of Hayden Paddon followed by Sébastien Ogier.

“First of all, Miikka (Anttila) and I are fine.”, reassured Jari-Matti Latvala. “We were taken to the hospital for routine check-ups. We had a good day so far. We were on a good pace and had no problems. We hit a rock, went off the road and rolled over several times. »

The presence of Jari-Matti Latvala in the final stage of Rally Argentina remains uncertain. “We couldn’t continue the rally after that. Our ability to return to Rally 2 will depend on the doctors' decision and the condition of our car. This accident is obviously very disappointing but it also proves to what extent the Polo R WRC is secure", added the Rally Mexico winner.
