Latvala: The settlement is not unfair

Jari-Matti Latvala unlocked her counter by winning the Rally of Mexico after two events without having scored a single point. The Volkswagen driver took advantage of an advantageous road position during the opening stages to widen his lead over his teammate Sébastien Ogier who had to open the road in his capacity as leader of the Championship.

“(The rule) is not necessarily unfair.”, commented Jari-Matti Latvala to AUTOhebdo. “Personally, I found myself in this situation, in particular because of an incident that I had no control over in Sweden… So I appreciate the fact that a chance is given to make up for it during the next rally. If your ranking is poor due to problems that are out of your control, it's nice to know that you have an advantage on the next test. »

Jari-Matti Latvala scored 27 points in Mexico and is now 50 points behind Sébastien Ogier.
