Latvala leads Rally Finland

Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Focus WRC) can he win his second rally of the season ? After a success in New Zealand, the Finn wants to give Ford a third victory this season. But, with less than ten seconds ahead of Petter Solberg, the driver of the Focus n°4 will have to work hard on Saturday to maintain his advantage.

On Saturday, the special stages will be all the more decisive as the second day of the Rally Finland will also be the last. First to go on the roads, Jari-Matti Latvala will therefore suffer from being swept away until the last meters of the event, if it does not rain. Petter Solberg, best placed to attack the Finn, will try to regain victory in the WRC at the wheel of his Citroën C4.

But the two Sébastiens from the Citroën Total World Rally Team also have their say. The youngest, third, is less than 22 seconds from the race lead. Just like Sébastien Loeb, fourth at 32??0, he could take advantage of his position on the road to pick up the victory. Dani Sordo, fifth, more than forty seconds back, seems out of the picture in this regard.

But this Rally of Finland is far from over. On Saturday, the drivers will have to compete in eight special stages for a total of 160 kilometers. The outcome of the debates is therefore completely undecided. Sébastien Loeb, who likes to be in this position to find the front, will look to grab the seconds as the kilometers go by. The drivers will be able to attack without ulterior motives since the event will end on Saturday evening.
