Latvala prepares for Mexico

After a failed start to the season in Monte-Carlo, Jari-Matti Latvala reasserted himself by winning the Rally from Sweden. Ford WRT is now preparing to compete in the Mexican event (from March 8 to 11) where Sébastien Loeb has won the last five editions. This year, the Rally of Mexico will be particularly demanding since it will offer 407 km timed to the crews of the WRC. The American manufacturer prepared for the next meeting by going last week to the Fontjoncouse test track in France where the Ford Fiesta RS WRC completed 290km.

Jari-Matti Latvala, third in the 2011 edition of the Rally Mexico, said he was delighted with the progress of these tests, which allowed the team to refine the set-up of the cars. “The conditions were extremely difficult, but it allowed us to gather very good information on the areas we need to improve”, commented the Finn on wrc.com. “We tested several developments developed on the car and we received very positive feedback. Overall, I would say that this session was very useful for all the demanding gravel rallies this season. »
