The Fafe Rally Sprint is getting closer

Fafe. This name resonates with fans of rally Portuguese like Turini for the French and Italians. The Mecca of Portuguese rallying, during the great years of Group B and Group A in the 80s and 90s (also with the no less famous Arganil and Valdevez), will therefore welcome the cars of WRC 2014 for the Fafe Rally Sprint from March 29, as a preamble to the Portuguese round of the 2014 World Championship (April 3-6).

We will notably find the Volkswagen Polo R WRC of the world champions Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia, but not Jari-Matti Latvala. The teams will generally only enter one car shared between the drivers, given the entry list revealed yesterday. Hyundai will only enter the i20 of Dani Sordo, while at Citroën on the other hand, and Kris Meeke and Mads Ostberg will be there. On the Ford side, M-Sport will line up Elfyn Evans and Ott Tänak, but no traces of Mikko Hirvonen, nor Robert Kubica.

Ancient glories like Renault 5 Turbo, Lancia Delta Integrale or Ford Escort RS Cosworth will also take off on the famous Fafe bump.
