The Junior WRC will go global in 2020

Mainly contested in Europe, the Junior World Rally Championship will be able to count on a round outside the Old Continent in 2020.

The schedule of Junior WRC presented this Wednesday highlights a detour by Chile, a great first in South America for the series intended for young talents entered in the Ford Fiesta R2T, and which will constitute next April the second round of the season after an opening winter in Sweden (February 13-16).

The rest of the calendar remains rather classic with Italy-Sardinia (June 4-7), Finland (August 6-9) and Germany (October 15-18), which will conclude the championship on asphalt.

The rewards awarded by the promoter will once again be attractive with a Ford Fiesta R5 Mk II developed by M-Sport, with 200 Pirelli tires, a free registration in WRC 3 for the 2021 season and five free entries.

If the 2020 champion wins the 2021 WRC 3 championship, two rallies at M-Sport Ford will be offered to him in 2022.

The Rookie Award returns for the 2020 season, with a €15 purse given to the highest-ranked rookie ahead of the 000 FIA Junior WRC season.
