Where will he stop? Since the start of his career in WRC il y a 22 ans sur une Toyota Corolla WRC, Sébastien Loeb accumulates records. The one of victories? He is the one who holds it with 80 successes, the last of which was at Monte-Carlo in January. The number of world titles? The Alsatian is also at the top of the ranking with 9 crowns ahead of the 8 of Sébastien Ogier.

There is no need to also remember that Sébastien Loeb is the driver with the most scratch time on his clock. In just over 20 years in the industry, the nine-time world champion has won no less than 935 special stages. A long list of records to which the Frenchman added an additional line last weekend.

Loeb a little more in the story

present Rally of the Acropolis, his 4th appearance of the year, Sébastien Loeb gave his opponents a hard time on the rough roads of Greece to the point of leading the event at the start of Saturday. Nothing new for him, used to fighting for this position for many years. However, this performance allowed him to write his name in WRC history even if he no longer needed it.

By taking the lead in the Acropolis Rally, the Alsatian became the oldest driver to lead a round of the World Rally Championship at 48 years, 6 months and 14 days. He thus beat Björn Waldegard who had held this record since the 1991 Safari. Sébastien Loeb is definitely indestructible.

Although he was able to lead the race, the Frenchman was ultimately forced to retire due to a faulty alternator belt. Victory has returned à Thierry Neuville, his first in almost a year.
