The Monte-Carlo 2019 route made official

La 87th edition of Rally Monte Carlo should only start in six months (January 22 to 27). However, the Automobile Club Monaco (ACM) unveiled the route in broad terms on Friday morning. As has become the tradition for six years, Gap (Hautes-Alpes) will serve as a base for the inaugural event of the World Rally Championship (WRC) 2019.

Good news for those nostalgic for the night specials, the first stage will start on Thursday evening at 20:08 p.m. two new special stages of 20 kilometers each (La Bréole-Selonnet and Avançon-Notre-Dame-du-Laus). One of the myths of this event, the Sisteron-Thoard section, used in 2018, will not be used.

On Friday, three special stages will be covered twice, between Valdrôme and Sigottier (19,90 km, new ES) Roussieux and Laborel (23,92 km), and finally Curbans and Piégut (18,37 km). This last sector had no longer been used since the beginning of the 2000 years.

Agnières-en-Dévoluy–Corps (ES 9/11 – 29,33 km) and Saint-Léger-les-Mélèzes–La Bâtie-Neuve (ES 10/12 – 16,71 km) will be at the heart of the stage Saturday just like the last edition.

Finally, the Col du Turini is obviously in the spotlight of the Sunday stage with two passages in the morning. (La Bollène-Vésubie–Peïra-Cava (18,30 km). La Cabanette – Col de Braus (SS 15/17 – 13,56 km) will conclude the event, the second passage serving as a Power Stage.
