Rally de Catalunya route revealed

Le Rally of Catalonia 2019 (October 24-27) will offer a course mixing ES dirt and asphalt, as was the case in 2018 but with a revised itinerary, particularly with regard to the days of Friday and Sunday.

After a shakedown which remains to be determined, but which will take place on gravel on Thursday, we will note the absence of a super-special in the evening in Barcelona. The inaugural stage will be contested on Friday on asphalt and will include three special stages to be completed twice each.

If the Gandesse sector will be back, the long ES of Pesells (a little less than 27 km) will be replaced by the Horta-Bot section, 19 km long. The La Fatarella – Vilalba special, which will mix dirt and asphalt, will be retained, with a similar mileage of almost 39 km.

Saturday will launch the 100% asphalt ES and will offer a route similar to 2018, with the three identical ES of Savalla, Querol and El Montmell, to be completed twice each. A super-special in Salou will conclude the stage.

On Sunday, the finale will begin with a special stage not seen since 2014, La Mussara (20,48 km), which digitally replaces the ES Santa Marina, which served as the Power Stage last year. The Riudecanyes section will be the scene of the concluding special and will offer bonus points to the first five drivers.
