The Safari Rally route, finally back on the WRC calendar, is starting to take shape. As expected, there will be no question of the immense special stages seen until the 2000s.

The Safari Rally route takes shape

After 18 years of absence, the Safari Rally will re-enter the WRC next July 15-19. Initial information reveals that the shakedown will take place on Wednesday afternoon (between 13:00 p.m. and 16:30 p.m.) at a venue called Aberdare Hills, while the service park will be set up on the shores of Lake Naivasha, 98km northwest of the capital Nairobi.

Thursday will be devoted to the start ceremony at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, in the heart of Nairobi, then to the super special stage (4,8 km to be tackled in a duel) set out outside the city, near the Kasarani stadium.

As was indicated when the return of this round was announced, the special stages will only be Safari in name since, on Friday, they will be respectively 13,32 km, 33,43 km and 19,13 km long. .

The schedule for Saturday will be identical with 3 sections (14,64 km, 20,33 km and 31 km), to be covered twice. Finally, Sunday is not yet completely finalized, but it could be original with 2 times, including the Power Stage with the evocative name: Hells Gate...
