The fifth round of the 2023 World Rally Championship season (WRC) takes place in Portugal from May 11 to 14. This is the second gravel event of the year, after Mexico and before Sardinia in June.
Le Rally of Portugal is one of the oldest and most popular events on the calendar WRC. The fast, technical dirt roads from Porto to the north and heart of the country are sandy at first before becoming more rocky and rough on second passes. There are many blind turns on ridges, not to mention temperatures that can skyrocket at the start of the Portuguese summer.
