The Tour de Corse will replace Alsace this year as the French round of the World Championship, and should offer a route very different from a classic WRC round.

The unique project for the Tour de Corse route

As we explain it to you in issue 1999 of AUTOhebdo, the project of the journey of the next Tour of Corsica (October 1? 4), which will replace Alsace on the calendar WRC 2015, was unveiled to the stables on the occasion of the last Rally of Sweden, won by Sébastien Ogier.

This project appears very different from what the WRC rounds currently offer. Only five stages would be on the program over two and a half days, for an online route from and to Ajaccio, via Bastia and Porto-Vecchio. The ES, more than 70 km long, would be divided as follows: one on Friday, contested at night, then two specials on Saturday, and two on Sunday, including the famous Power Stage. A cutting legal but which is already giving rise to some reluctance, notably from Volkswagen and M-Sport.
