The France-Alsace rally confirmed in 2013

The world council of WRC made public this Friday, June 15, its decision to retain, in 2013, the rally of France-Alsace on his calendar. The fear of seeing it disappear had arisen in recent months with the wish of the FIA (International Automobile Federation) to remove two European events from the calendar in favor of rounds contested on other continents, notably in Brazil. The World Motorsport Council has confirmed that the calendar for the next World Rally Championship season will be identical to this year's, apart from alternating between New Zealand and Australia. The identity of a new promoter for the WRC will be revealed following an upcoming council meeting in September. Incidentally, the idea of integrating new rallies was therefore abandoned.

For Nicolas Deschaux, President of the French Motor Sport Federation, the news is significant: “The publication of the Rallye de France on the 2013 calendar is a continuation of the in-depth work carried out by the FFSA organizing team , supported by Alsatian local authorities and private partners from the outset. Since 2010, the exemplary nature of this major competition has been our priority.”
