The Sardinia Rally heads to Olbia

A must-see event since the early 2000s, the Rally from Sardinia will welcome the players of the world championship for the 18th time with a little difference this time.

If it is still planned for Sardinian lands, the Italian meeting will experience a small change in its organization. Indeed, the Sardinia Rally will leave Alghero and the west coast to settle in the East near Olbia.

With this change of route, the organizers announced the introduction of a new Shakedown in Loiri, near the new base camp, on Thursday June 3.

Friday will be a very busy day for the competitors with four loops on the program (Su Filigosu – Monte Lerno/Terranova twice and Tempio Pausania/Erula – Tula also).

A program repeated on Saturday with eight special stages on the menu and more than 130 timed kilometers (Coiluna – Loelle/Monte Lerno – Monti di Ala and Bortigiadas – Viddalba/Sedini – Castelsardo). This 2021 Sardinia Rally will end with two new loops (Arzachena – Braniatogghiu/Aglientu – Rena Majore twice).

In total, no less than 20 special stages await drivers on the east coast of Sardinia from June 3 to 6 for a total of 305,32 timed kilometers on gravel.
