Rally Turkey towards a return to WRC in 2018

As we announce to you in issue 2128 of AUTOhebdo, Rally of Turkey should replace the Polish Rally in 2018. This project was discussed during a meeting of the commission WRC held last Wednesday August 16 in Germany, the Polish event was criticized for its lack of safety on the special stages.

The Rally of Turkey would thus make its return to the WRC calendar for the first time since 2010. The new base should be located in Marmaris and the event should take place in September between the Rally of Germany and the Spanish event. The FIA World Council which will be held on September 21 in Paris will have to validate this change once the teams have obtained the agreement of their management to travel to a country suffering from an uncertain geopolitical situation.

Discover the latest information from the WRC and the analysis of the Rally of Germany carried out by our special correspondents in issue 2128 of AUTOhebdo, now available in digital version on all platforms and on kiosks.
