Rallying arrives in force at the FIA Motorsport Games

With GT, F4, Tourism (TCR), Drift, karting slalom and Esport (via Gran Turismo Sport), already present last year during the Roman edition of Vallelunga, the 2020 FIA Motorsport Games, organized at Paul Ricard (October 23-25), will see new disciplines added to the menu.

Announced by SRO Motorsports last year, le rally will indeed make a strong arrival in 2020 with four events on asphalt. The categories Rally2 (R5 cars like the Skoda Fabia, Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Polo or Citroën C3), and Rally4 (two-wheel drive like the Peugeot 208 …) will be there for the modern section.

History will take pride of place with a race for cars that ran in the 70s and early 80s with FIA historic passports. Enough to potentially admire the queens of Group 4 (Ford Escort, Lancia Stratos, etc.). Regularity, with cars having run no later than 1990, will complete the picture.

For existing disciplines, the GT (still with the GT3 regulations) will see a significant modification with a Sprint race with the expected presence of Pro drivers, and a Sprint Relay round for Silver and Bronze drivers.

Slalom karting (with electric models for mixed girl-boy crews aged 14 to 16) will be renewed with the arrival of a round Endurance and a Sprint (for young people aged 12 to 14 with FIA OK Junior models). Crosscar, with two categories Junior (13-15 years old with one-design cars) and Senior (cars meeting FIA regulations), also joins the field.

Note that the Drift event will be contested with cars meeting the new DC1 regulations, recently unveiled by the FIA.
