The WRC will simplify its categories

The FIA ​​World Council which was held this Friday in Cologne (Germany) validated the changes to the category titles of the WRC.

WRC 2 Pro will become WRC 2 and will remain reserved for manufacturers and private teams while WRC 3 will be reserved for independent entrants (the current WRC 2). The Federation confirmed that these modifications had been made to simplify the pyramid structure of the discipline.

The time penalty per special (or super special) missed by a competitor will increase from 7 to 10 minutes in order to be in accordance with all championships. rally FIA.

The FIA ​​also indicated that WRC manufacturers would now have until Monday midday before the event to nominate eligible drivers to score points.
