Lefebvre: “Prove that I can be counted on”

Junior world and European champion in 2014, Stéphane Lefebvre had made its debut on a WRC last year at Rally of Germany before participating in Australia, Corsica, Spain and Great Britain.

Despite Citroën's official withdrawal for 2016, the Frenchman will be one of the drivers regularly present in the DS3 WRCs prepared by PH Sport and entered under the Abu Dhabi WRT banner. Starting tomorrow on the 3,35 km shakedown of the Monte-Carlo Rally, Lefebvre will find his mount, alongside Kris Meeke, also lined up for the season opener.

“Even if the Monte-Carlo is not a pure performance rally, we will first have to see how our car compares to those of the official teams. Kris Meeke will be my reference point and I will try to do a race in his wake. I am keen to achieve a good result and prove that I can be counted on. » explains the native of Nœux-les-Mines.

The preparation tests for the Monaco classic also allowed Stéphane Lefebvre to get his bearings with his new co-driver Gabin Moreau. “We have prepared a lot for our collaboration over the last few weeks, but it was important to finely adjust our agreement, the way I want the notes to fall? »

“We drove on a road that was generally dry but with little grip. As we only had one day, it was the ideal configuration to try a wide range of settings and tire fittings. This allowed me to get into the rhythm in the asphalt configuration. »
