Portugal and Italy rallies postponed

The Automobile Club of Italy indicated this Tuesday that moving its Rally of Italy, scheduled for June 4 to 7, was clearly to be considered in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

Announcement followed almost immediately by the facts since the FIA confirmed the postponement of the Sardinian round, just like that of the Rally of Portugal (May 22-24).

These are three rallies, with Argentina, initially scheduled for April, which are postponed following the spread of the virus around the world. No date has yet been set, neither for the Lusitanian event, nor for the island rally in Sardinia.

“All parties will endeavor to identify other potential dates for postponed rallies later in the season if the COVID-19 situation improves, taking into account the logistics of the championship, the ability of competitors to travel again and the capacity of the country in question to prepare for and accommodate the WRC at this moment. » underlines the general director of the WRC promoter, Oliver Ciesla.
