The Solbergs entered in Wales Rally GB

The father and son Solbergs will be at the start of Wales Rally GB from October 3 to 6, entered in Volkswagen Polo GTI R5s. It will be a passing of the baton for the Norwegians since the three-time world champion will end his professional career there while his 17-year-old son will make his debut at world level.

“Wales Rally GB has always been a special event for me and it’s fantastic to be able to come here to conclude my career, comments Hollywood who has 4 victories in 15 starts on the rally British. I have so many memories of this ordeal. This is where I won my first victory in WRC and where I won my first title a year later. My co-driver Phil (Mills) lives nearby. It will also be the first time that I will drive in the WRC with my son Oliver. This is a great moment for the Solberg family. »

Oliver Solberg will have a certain amount of pressure when he finds himself facing his father, but the young Scandinavian will still have some experience.

“I have so many memories of my father riding here and winninghe says. I tested on the Sweet Lamb stage earlier in the year and my arm was sore. I watched a lot of videos on TV and practiced playing video games. I just want to enjoy it and gain experience. I don't know if I'll be able to beat him, but this will be the first time I'll be able to wait for him at the end of each stage. »
