Loeb: Asphalt determining in Argentina

The organizers of Rally of Argentina, which will be held from May 27 to 29, have planned several sectors on asphalt for the 2011 event. These passages will represent 20% of the total course of the event and will be crossed by the drivers with dirt tires.

Sébastien Loeb (Citroën), five-time winner of the event since 2003, thinks that the Rally Argentina will be played out on these sections of road. “ All the asphalt passages will be right in the middle of the dirt courses and we will not be able to properly prepare the set-up », declares the World Champion. “ We will have to adapt our driving as best as possible. The crucial factor will be tire management. »

Nevertheless, the Alsatian is happy to return to this event where he has shone many times in the past. “ We have a good record (of victories) on this rally which I can't really explain », adds the seven-time World Champion. “ The routes are very varied. Some stages alternate between technical and fast sections. In any case, it is certain that I am at ease here. »
