Loeb already sets the pace in Germany

Behind the wheel of the Citroën DS3 WRC No. 1, the eight-time world rally champion made four passes through the Konz special, 4,55 kilometers long, to prepare for the ninth round of the WRC season. On his favorite surface, the Frenchman quickly found his feet even though he had no longer played rally on asphalt since January.

« It's a rally that was very successful for me and I'm always happy to come back here, among my supporters and a special atmosphere, Explain Loeb. After six events on gravel and a short vacation, this return to asphalt requires a little rehabilitation. During my first run, I had the impression that the images were scrolling in fast motion ! »

Sixth fastest in the shakedown, 1”4 behind his teammate, Mikko Hirvonen took a little more time to get back into the rhythm. “ We tested different settings and I am satisfied with my sensations behind the wheel, adds the Finn. The rally has changed a lot this year, since most of the stages are in reverse order compared to previous years. If the weather remains dry? what might not be the case? I think I can fight at the front. Even if I already have a nice collection of second places, I would be satisfied to get one more on this field! »
