Loeb: “We are working hard”

It is not a surprise. If Sébastien Loeb also participates assiduously in the development tests of the Citroën DS3 WRC, it?s good for driving the car in competition. Yesterday, the chevron brand announced that the two Sébastien, Loeb and Ogier, would still be drivers of the French firm next year. A new challenge therefore presents itself to the Alsatian, to triumph aboard a new car meeting new regulations.

“My contract with Citroën gave me the possibility of stopping at the end of this season. But my motivation and my desire to win are still as strong as ever, declared the six-time world champion. The 2011 season will be my eleventh in the official colors of Citroën. I believe that the World Championship will not lack interest, since the arrival of a new generation of cars will redistribute the cards between the manufacturers. It's no secret: we are already working hard on the new Citroën DS3 and I can't wait to pit it against the competition. Until then, winning a seventh consecutive world title remains my main objective. »

A quest in which the 36-year-old driver seems well on his way, since after seven rallies, he is 51 points ahead of his closest pursuer, that is to say the equivalent of more than two victories, according to especially since of the six remaining rounds, three are contested on asphalt, a surface where Loeb is unbeatable.
