Loeb will open the road for Ogier and Latvala

After the tumultuous debate between the two Citroën drivers at Rally of the Acropolis, Sébastien Loeb et Sébastien Ogier found themselves in the same situation at the end of the second stage of the Rallye des 1000 Lacs. The last winner in Greece led the event by one breath in front of his teammate, but he slowed down in the last special to let the seven-time World Champion open the road on the final day.

The strategy is effective since there is only a second and a half between the two DS3s WRC of head. However, Sébastien Ogier will have to be wary of Jari-Matti Latvala, still in ambush behind the Citroën drivers. The Ford driver is only a second behind the Frenchman and has the best position in the fight for victory given the small gaps.

Petter Solberg remains in fourth place at the wheel of his private DS3 WRC. The Norwegian does not achieve great times in this event, but he shows exemplary consistency which will cost the leaders dearly if they make the slightest mistake. The former World Champion is only 26 seconds away from a place on the podium and he remains dangerous before the final stage which will be the longest of the rally.

After losing two minutes at the start of the Rally Finland, Mikko Hirvonen (Ford) moved up to sixth place after scoring several scratches. The Finn is still 28 seconds behind fifth place occupied by Mads Ostberg (Ford).

The final stage of the Rally Finland will feature 140 timed kilometers spread over ten special stages. The start of SS12 (Leustu) will be at 6:58 a.m.
